The so-called 'Atlantic Declaration’, designed to deal with China and Russia, also adapts to new challenges such as artificial intelligence and climate change.
Washington and London renew their economic partnership with the so-called 'Atlantic Declaration’.
In a meeting at the White House, President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak launched a new partnership in the defense industry, civil nuclear power and supply of essential metals.
A new alliance adapted to artificial intelligence and climate change, but designed to tackle China and Russia.
„Countries like China and Russia are willing to manipulate our transparency, exploit us, steal our intellectual property, use technology for authoritarian purposes or take back important resources like energy. They will not succeed. Today we agreed to the 'Atlantic Declaration’. A new partnership for a new era, agreed so far. A kind of not taken,” said British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Despite the importance of the „Atlantic Declaration”, the text falls far short of the free trade deal the UK has been pushing since it leaves the EU in 2020.
