CIWM Announces Winners of Circular Economy Funding

The fund was established to help accelerate the growth of high-potential small and micro businesses.

All six companies will receive marketing, communications and brand development support to the value of £10,000.

Six companies:

  • Loom – It creates software that helps improve and redesign garments.
  • Maconda Solutions – Enables a circular built environment.
  • Marinatex – a versatile material made from marine waste, is being developed as an alternative to single-use plastics.
  • The Little Loop – a circular market for new and pre-loved children’s clothing;
  • Velorim – It collects and recycles bicycle tires, inner tubes and Li-ion batteries.
  • WEEE Scotland – It helps meet the challenges of unwanted electrical equipment through repair, refurbishment and remanufacturing.

Six winners were selected from over 100 applications, all of which were judged by a cross-departmental CIWM panel.

CIWM’s Technology Manager Richard Hudson commented: “Small and micro businesses, such as those selected for support through the CIWM Circular Economy Innovators Fund, are the foundation on which the circular economy is built.

„Their innovation and enthusiasm are matched by their potential to make a meaningful difference in the way we manage and protect our finite resources. We believe that providing brand, marketing and communications expertise will help these innovators better tell their stories, continue to raise their profile and improve their ability to scale their operations.” We believe.

Marketing and communication support

Winners will receive support from Parley Communications in developing a tailored brand communications plan with relevant assets and content.
