The world’s largest virtual food brand is expanding into Mexico

Mexico City, May 20 (EFE).- Global food chain MrBeast Burger, considered the world’s largest virtual brand, is expanding into Mexico, planning to sell 300,000 hamburgers in its first month.

This is the first step of the American-born chain in Latin America, and it will take place in partnership with a growing company or „startup” of Colombian origin, a leader in kitchens in cloud foodology and virtual dining concepts. .

„We are very excited to bring MrBeast Burger to Mexico, the introduction of this brand is a milestone and a new era in the food delivery market in Mexico,” commented Juan Esteban Abadia, General Director of Dietitian Mexico, in a statement.

„Thanks to Foodology’s speed, technology and processes, we will be able to launch it in six cities in Mexico and 40 locations in a few months, which will position us as the leading 'startup’ in the field of 'cloud kitchen’ in Latin America (cloud),” added the manager.

Foodology hosts more than six virtual restaurants, including Brunch and Munch, Avocalia, and Bamboo Wok.

In Mexico, the brand’s menu is available in the cities of Monterrey, Saltillo, Guadalajara, Merida, Puebla and Mexico City on home delivery platforms such as Uber Eats, Didi Food and Rappi.

To begin with, MrBeast Burger, the world’s largest virtual restaurant, will not have any physical stores and will only focus on delivery.

According to EuroMonitor International, Mexico is the second largest distribution or „delivery” market in Latin America, behind only Brazil, with a value of more than 3,865 million dollars by 2021, representing a 12.8% increase over the previous year.

Innovative offering and strong focus on customer experience has earned MrBeast Burger recognition and popularity, especially in the US, UK, Canada, Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Founded in December 2020 by „youtuber” Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, in partnership with Virtual Dining Concepts, the brand has more than 3,000 locations and Mexico is the gateway to Latin America.

„We started with major cities around the world, and today we’re reaching Mexico, the capacity and range of MrBeast in Spanish and MrBeast in this region and a key market for us,” Donaldson said.

At 25, Donaldson is the most-followed YouTuber in the world, with 170 million subscribers, and is worth more than $100 million, according to Startup Booted.

Meanwhile, Foodology, founded in 2019 by Colombians Daniela Izquierdo and Juan Guillermo Azzurro, has more than 90 cloud kitchens in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Brazil, making it the largest private cloud kitchen operation in the region.
