Nia Archives tackles loneliness on new single 'Crowded Rooms'

Nia Archives have released new single 'Crowded Roomz' – listen to it below.

The Bradford-born producer, DJ and songwriter's debut single 2024 reflects on the loneliness he experienced while on tour. This is Ethan B. Co-produced and written by Flynn.

Writing on X/Twitter this morning (January 19), Nia described Personal track „very raw n exposeing but it's 100% real 2 me n tha only real way i found 2 express me”.

He added: „I want to say a big thank you to Yaya 2 Ethan B. Flynn 4 for doing this special musical with me <333."

Over a jungle drumbeat, Nia sings in the first verse: „I feel so lonely, especially in crowded rooms/ It's a facade, my personality is my dress/ No one to turn to, they don't understand my blues/ I feel so lonely, especially in crowded rooms.”

Nia wrote 'Crowded Room' following a festival appearance last summer. A press release called the new single „the epitome of a sad banger”.

It added: „Nia's personal experience and intimate lyrics speak to themes of loneliness and social anxiety, uniting us all in the universal experience of feeling like a spectator in this chaotic world.”

The song follows on from last year's 'Of Wive Ya Heads' and 'Bad Gials'. NME's '50 Best Songs of 2023' list.

Additionally, Nia featured in BBC Radio 6 Music's inaugural Artists of the Year run-down alongside the likes of Blur and Boygenius.

Last March, Nia Archives released their third EP 'Sunrise Bang Your Head Against Tha Wall'.

In a four-star review, NME Wrote: „It's quite an honor to have been able to show such humanity and versatility so early in his career, and if this is a glimpse of the future, Nia Archives looks set to become an indispensable generational talent.”
