West Indies Won the toss and decided to bat first Australia
Australian captain Pat Cummins confirmed that he would have batted first had Australia won the toss.
Australia stuck to their winning formula despite some covid infections running through the camp. All-rounder Cameron Green and coach Andrew Macdonald both tested positive for Covid yesterday, after Travis Head tested positive earlier in the week. The head later tested negative. Green is set to play and MacDonald will still coach the team, but both will remain out of the squad until negative throughout the early part of the Test.
Opener Usman Khawaja is also fit to play after recovering from a head injury suffered in the Adelaide Test.
Australia 1 Usman Khawaja, 2 Steven Smith, 3 Marnus Lapuzagne, 4 Cameron Green, 5 Travis Head, 6 Mitchell Marsh, 7 Alex Carey (weekly), 8 Mitchell Starc, 9 Pat Cummins (captain), 10 Nathan Lyon, 11 Josh Hazlewood
West Indies 1 Craig Brathwaite (capt), 2 Tagoreine Chanderbal, 3 Kirk McKenzie, 4 Alik Athanas, 5 Gavem Hodge, 6 Justin Greaves, 7 Joshua da Silva (week), 8 Kevin Sinclair, 9 Alzari Joseph, 10 Kemar Romer Schach, 11
