Durango | What would we find if we had the ability and resources to travel between planets and stars? What are the closest astronomical objects we can see to Earth, and which are the farthest? In Space Science and Technology, Dr. Itziar Garet Lopez, in his talk „Journey Through the Universe” („Universon Zehr Pitayatzen”) proposes to know all the elements we can find in that hypothetical journey.
In the new edition of the cycle of science talks from Zientziaren Ertzeti Organized by the University of the Basque Country's Scientific Culture Chair and Durango's Picenta Moel Library, Garet will talk about a variety of astronomical objects, from the planets that make up the solar system to James' photographs of ancient galaxies. Itziar Garet López holds a degree in Physics from the University of La Laguna and a PhD in Space Science and Technology from UPV/EHU. After completing his post-doctorate at Pierre V Marie Curie University, he is currently Professor of Physics at the School. Bilbao Engineering of UPV/EHU. His field of research focuses on the dynamics of the Martian atmosphere, the origin of superrotation and the formation of polar vortices.
