On February 20, starting at 6:00 PM, Chief Cabinet Secretary Mr. Hayashi Yoshimasa, visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction HE Dr. Se Samal received a courtesy call on them. Invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. An overview of the meeting is as follows:
- Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Che Samal's visit to Japan and expressed his gratitude for the news regarding the Noto Peninsula earthquake. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Che Samal expressed his appreciation for the support of the Japanese government and people in the peace, reconstruction and development of Cambodia.
- Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations. The relationship and cooperation between Japan and Cambodia as a „comprehensive strategic partnership” has been expanding in recent years in various areas such as defense and digital domains, both sides welcomed. They also welcomed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the National Space Policy Secretariat of Japan's Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction of the Kingdom of Cambodia on Japan's quasi-Zenith satellite system. During this visit. Both sides also shared a vision to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as digital, surveying and satellite domains.
