Coco Goff has revealed that she wants to hit double-digit Grand Slams
Coco Goff won her first Grand Slam title at last year's US Open, and the American has revealed she wants to win at least nine more majors.
Goff comes into the Australian Open having retained her title by defeating Elina Svitolina in the final in Auckland last week.
The Melbourne Major has been Goff's weakest major statistically, with the 19-year-old yet to get past the fourth round.
However, the world No.4 was ambitious while revealing his career Grand Slam goals, „Recently, I would say, I feel like I want to get to double digits. Very good. I don't know if it will happen, but I think it's a lofty goal. I can set my goals high. I think that pushes me beyond what I think I can do.
Goff is one of 11 active singles Grand Slam champions, but he wasn't satisfied with just one, he told reporters, “After the US Open everything was so fast, we celebrated a little bit in the off-season. Now, moving on to another slam, it feels like such a long time ago.
He continued, “Some players' goal is to win a Grand Slam. Once they achieve that, what's next? For me, I always knew that I wanted to win more. It was easy to forget. not forgotten I think that's the wrong word. Maybe put it in the past and not worry about the past and look forward to the future.
„For me, I think all I try to remember from that Slam is the way I won. It wasn't my best tennis. It was still mental fire.

Despite being a recent Grand Slam winner, it feels like Coco Gaff is going a bit under the radar ahead of the Australian Open. However, this could play into the hands of the Americans as the pressure will be on the likes of Ika Sviatek, Arina Sabalenka and Elina Rybakina. At the very least, Goff should be aiming for his best finish at the Australian Open this year.
