Kalki Koechlin is currently acting in Thangameenal. In a new one Interview Along with Pooja Talwar, Kalki spoke about her current bond with ex-husband Anurag Kashyap, who also presents Goldfish. Kalki said that although the initial years after the divorce were difficult, they have been good friends ever since. In that interview, Kalki said, „It takes time. There’s no denying that in the first few years after the divorce we couldn’t be the friends we are today. We needed that alone time because it hurts. About the other person’s relationship and things like that. So, of course, we spent that time. We took it, I definitely went through a lot of therapy, it’s been seven, eight years now… It’s been a long time, it’s great, it’s great, we’re friends.”

Kalki and Anurag got married in 2011 and separated in 2015. Kalki made her Bollywood debut in the 2009 Anurag starrer romantic dark comedy Dev D, where she starred opposite Abhay Deol. He also worked with Anurag in his 2010 thriller That Girl in Yellow Boots and Season 2 of the 2019 Netflix India original crime thriller Sacred Games. Kalki gave birth to a daughter, Sappho, in 2020 with partner Guy Hershberg.
Kalki was recently seen in Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Made in Heaven with Anurag Kashyap in a special appearance. Meanwhile, Anurag’s last directorial feature D.J., which hit theaters earlier this year. Along with Mohabbatein is the romantic comedy film Almost Pyaar. His next directorial venture is the crime thriller Kennedy starring Rahul Bhatt and Sunny Leone. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Anurag also stars in the Zee5 web series Hadi starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
In Goldfish, Kalki portrays a loving daughter struggling with financial problems. Deepti Naval plays his mother who suffers from dementia. The film marks the return of Kalki to the theaters after four years. Kalki was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Kalli Bhai which released in 2019.
