India has declared the Nagi and Nakhti bird sanctuaries as New Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. These wetlands are located within the Jaja forest in Jamui district of Bihar. With this, the number of 'Ramsar sites’ in India has increased to 82.
