The Mayan train will be one of the best rail transports in the world because of the state-of-the-art technology and highly trained personnel, General Director of the National Tourism Development Fund (FONATUR) Javier May Rodríguez said today.
By providing a detailed report on the railway, safety and connection systems and the archeological route of the project, he assured that the Mayan Railway will provide safe journeys, as its operation includes traffic control, adequate signalling, radioactive space. , Remote Control and Interconnection, Tracks, Stations, Booths, Trains, Workshops and Depots.
May Rodriguez accompanied President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to a morning press conference. There he noted that, beyond a single track and trains, the Mayan Railway will be a complete rail system that will be strengthened with a Southeast Air link.
He highlighted that in addition to the airports of Villahermosa, Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Merida and Cancun, the construction of a new airport in Tulum and the modernization of the Setumal and Palanque airports are included.
Also, Tren Maya hotels will be built along the route in close proximity to archaeological sites and natural areas.
„To guarantee safe and peaceful travel experiences, the entire Mayan railway will have ground and aerial surveillance, elements in cars, patrolling the tracks and drones and aerial surveillance at stations, bus stops, strategic facilities such as archeological zones and airports, ” he said.
Connecting 1,554 kilometers through 34 stations in Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, the Mayan Railway is a historic undertaking being built in the southeast of Mexico, tourist attractions, archaeological sites and places of extraordinary natural beauty.
