Especially for members of the Williams Racing Driver Academy, the 2023 motorsport calendar begins to draw to a close for the year.
Only one driver was in action last weekend, with Leah Black competing in Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2023 Extreme E Championship. Read below to know more.
Leah Black – Extreme E
Leah Black traveled to the stunning terrain of Antofagasta, Chile last weekend for the season-ending final rounds of the 2023 Xtreme E Championship.
Leah has been competing in the all-electric off-road racing series since Round 5 for Carl Cox Motorsport, and unsurprisingly she landed the Copper X-Prix.
Together with his team-mate Timo Scheider in the qualifiers for the 9th round across the 3.05 km distance in the Atacama Desert, they took P3, but it was not enough to earn them a place in the Grand Final.
Instead, it was a spot in the Redemption Race, with the pair enjoying unraced runs past the JBXE and Chip Ganassi Racing teams to cross the line in P1.
Round 10 and a P3 and P4 in their qualifying session put the Carl Cox Motorsport team in a redemption race for P7 and the final.
Timo was in charge, but before he could get to the switch zone to put Leah behind the wheel, a mechanical failure forced the team to end Extreme E’s third season with a DNF.
