On the occasion of the 2023 International Youth Day (IYD), President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Nigerian youths.
From job creation, education and skills development to digital innovation, financial technology and youth participation in governance, President Tinubu, in a statement by Presidential Spokesman Azuri Nkelele, stressed that youth empowerment is the fundamental pillar of all reform measures implemented in all sectors. , to create an environment where Nigerian youths can thrive and contribute to the growth and development of the country.
The President acknowledged the growing interest and influence of young Nigerians in technology-related fields around the world and pledged to honor his campaign commitment to create one million new jobs in the digital economy for their development and national economic development.
Ngelale said the President strongly believed in the principle of “to whom much is given, much is expected” and was unwavering in his focus on delivery.
As agents of change, President Tinubu urged the youths to succeed in national progress, unity and collective prosperity for all citizens of our beloved country.
In line with the theme of this year’s International Youth Day event: “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”, the President called on young Nigerians to spearhead efforts aimed at achieving the highest standards of sustainable development that will shape our future. Planet in line with his agenda of expanding green jobs and advocating for renewable energy solutions as an integral part of Nigeria’s current and future energy mix.
On this International Youth Day celebration, the President assured that his administration will continue to engage and listen to the younger generation towards implementing their important and forward-looking ideas.
Highlighting his commitment to active listening and engagement, President Tinubu noted that the enactment of the Student Loan Act and provision of buses to student bodies of all universities, polytechnics and colleges of education across the country stand as concrete examples of his administration’s sense of responsibility.
