The Test – at Ealing Sports Club in London – will be the sixth match between the two countries and according to Springbok Women's assistant coach Francelle September, it will complete three weeks on the tour for the team.
„We finished Spain and the win last weekend, and from Monday we're just focusing on America,” September said.
“We've taken a lot of learning from the tour so far through the training sessions against Scotland and Wales and the Test win in Valladolid and now we have to finish the job against the USA.
“Ultimately, the purpose of our tour was to prepare our players for the Africa Cup of Nations in May, where qualification for next year's Rugby World Cup is at stake. I can say it's been a good trip and we're excited to be tested by the USA, a team we don't often face.
The Bok Women last played the U.S. in 2013, but Franzel said he watched all the Women's Eagles compete last year at WXV 2, which was held in South Africa.
„They have a new coach now, a former forward, so we expect their approach to be physical. We want a physical battle and are prepared accordingly,” said September, adding that the players have learned on tour that they have to „pitch up” for each opponent.
„The same goes for the American game, we have to take the game to them. We know our strengths and we have to put pressure on them to make sure they are in our favor.
The Test will also be a final opportunity to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations battle in Madagascar: “We have introduced some new players to Test rugby and the level of intensity required at that level and we are delighted with the results. This game will give us another chance to fine tune our game.
„America has a better world ranking than us and one of the main objectives is to play and compete against those teams. Saturday will provide such an opportunity and we cannot waste it,” he added.
The team for the US tournament will be announced on Wednesday afternoon. The match will be broadcast live on the SA Rugby YouTube channel and kicks off at 15h00 (SA time).
