The government says 158 strategic projects have been completed as of July 11

JAKARTA (ANTARA) – The Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced that 158 National Strategic Plans (NSPs) have been completed as of July 11, 2023.

The latest project is the construction of the Cisumdawu toll road, which was spearheaded by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), according to the Ministry’s Regional Development and Spatial Planning Coordination Deputy Wayu Udomo.

„So, since the National Strategic Plan (Plan) started in 2016, 158 projects have been completed as of July 11, 2023,” he told a media conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

He estimated the total value of the 158 projects at Rp1,002.6 trillion (about US$67 billion).

He said the ministry expects to execute 25 more projects this year.

Utomo added that by 2024, the government aims to implement 31 projects.

The government outlined 210 projects and 12 projects under the National Strategic Planning Plan, with an investment value of Rp5,764 trillion (about US$385 billion).

Jokowi aims to complete all projects by 2024, especially in terms of land allocation and permits, Utomo said.

He confirmed that the government is collaborating with the private sector to get funds for projects that will reduce the burden on the state budget.

At the same occasion, Insanul Kamil, an official of Indonesian Trade and Industry (Katin), said that Katin continues to support such cooperation through programs such as government-business collaboration and crowdfunding.

„So now it’s about supporting this project, which should always continue, because infrastructure is the main tool that drives achievements. We have a goal of 2045 Golden Indonesia, and the involvement of the private sector has a significant impact,” he added.
