Amazon Prime Day is huge. It is gigantic. It’s ridiculously huge. You get the picture: There are a zillion deals out there, and even after following our most in-depth coverage (see our list of super-duper mega deals here), you can feel lost. Many contracts to hide.

You sit there and think In fact Need a bonsai tree trimmer, I offer a different approach: here are five deals that are really worth it.

Wait, why are you listening to me? good question. Well, I’m a senior editor at Mashable and I look at technology all day, every day. I buy tons of gadgets and companies send me even more gadgets to look at. Yes, I know everyone has different needs and preferences when it comes to electronic devices, gizmos and all kinds of gadgets. But sometimes, just sometimes, you find a good thing at a good price and go to yourself: Wow, this is probably worth buying.

When the shopping team at Mashable dug through their giant deals and asked me to pick the top five, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

Without further ado, here’s what I found.

Apple AirPods Max

Look, I don’t even need AirPods Max. I have at least five pairs of headphones at home, and maybe another pair or two that I’ve lost. Honestly, I don’t like the look of that smart case that comes with the AirPods Max. It looks weird. What’s up with that, Apple?

Still, the AirPods Max are stupidly comfortable, sound amazing, look great, and play well with Apple gadgets, which is a big deal because all my other wireless headphones aren’t easy to connect (or switch) to my Apple devices. .

This year, you can get AirPods Max for $394.99, a full 28% off the regular price of $550. I don’t remember seeing them so cheap. Even better, it’s available in five colors – green, pink, silver, sky blue and space gray – at this price.

All in all, I think it’s a good deal because the AirPods Max are something I wouldn’t normally buy. The AirPods Pro deal (now $168.99, down from $249) is great, but I already have a pair, and honestly, if I lose them, I’ll buy a new pair. But buying a pair of AirPods Max at a huge discount would send my dopamine soaring beyond sight… my last impulse buy online. That means in years. Yes, years. Well, months. Weeks? Please don’t judge me.

When people ask me which Kindle to get, I say, „Just get the Kindle Paperwhite.” I’ll say it: As an e-book reader, it’s a no-nonsense purchase with all the features you need and Amazon’s largest library.

This year, however, the deals on Kindles aren’t as great (the Paperwhite is $15 off and can be had for $134.99). Except for one: Kindle Scribe.

Kindle Scribe, if you’re not familiar with it, is a Kindle that lets you take notes with a digital pen (included) and turn handwritten notes into text. Does everyone need one? Absolutely not. Amazon has dropped its price from $339.99 to $234.99, a 31% discount, so if you’re interested in trying it out to see if it fits, now is the time.

For your money, you get the device in all its 10.2-inch glory (display 300ppi paperweight), 16GB of storage and a basic stylus. Enough to start your reading/reference journey.

You know what they say about televisions: they’re never too big. No, seriously. not at all. Even if it doesn’t fit on your living room wall. Get a big living room wall. But I digress. Say you want to go big this year, wow your friends and neighbors by finally getting that 75-inch TV, and bothering your significant other who wants your living room wall to be something other than a giant TV.

Also getting it this Prime Day is Samsung’s 75-inch QN85C QLED monster. That’s a clean $1,000 discount and now costs $1,497.99. This is manageable territory under Rs 20 per inch.

I’ll admit this: I haven’t tried this particular TV for myself. But it’s fine Reviews, and the „QN85C” designation puts it roughly in the middle of Samsung’s QLED TV range, and the N stands for a NEO QLED, which has a brighter, more vibrant picture than regular QLEDs. Are there better TVs? Yes, but it will be hard to find one at this price.

Ultimate Years Megaboom 3

Aside from phones, people often ask me which portable speakers to buy. Even if you’re not into gadgets, there’s something about a portable speaker. Going camping? Hold the speaker. Traveling basically anywhere? You may need a speaker. A pool party? Waterproof loudspeaker.

A long time ago I bought the Ultimate Ears Megaboom and it was perfect. It’s waterproof, looks great wherever you put it, and the battery lasts long enough for any party.

Then I sold it and got another portable speaker. And then another, and another. And you know what? I still wish I had that old Megaboom. These other speakers may sound better in certain scenarios, or they may appear brighter or have more features. But the Megaboom is the perfect size and so easy to use that it remains my recommended portable speaker to this day.

You can get the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 for $129.99 ($70 off) during Prime Day. Alternatively, get the Boom 3 – it’s not as loud, but it’s easier to lug around while still sounding great. This Prime Day can be had for $100.99 (a $49 discount).

Apple Watch SE (40mm)

What can I say, I’m a sucker for Apple gear. But it’s a completely different type of purchase than the aforementioned AirPods Max. Like the AirPods Max, the Apple Watch SE (40mm) is on sale this Prime Day for an all-time low of $169 (down from $249).

Mashable Deals

But it’s not something you buy to own shiny things. It’s a „is it for me?” Type of purchase. Sitting at the bottom of Apple’s Watch lineup, the SE is an entry-level smartwatch that’s a great buy for someone who isn’t sure they really need one and doesn’t want to spend a ton of money.

Frankly, the typical asking price (in typical Apple fashion) is what I think most people would pay for a device like this. Now that it’s discounted to $169, though, it might be time to give it a go.

For the price, you get a surprisingly capable smartwatch with a fitness and sleep tracker, heart rate monitor, voice control, and some Apple specials like crash detection and emergency SOS. You can’t get it in all colors at this price, and it seems to sell out fast, so don’t @ us if it’s not available by the time you get to it.
