Shaquille O’Neal Cruelly Trolls Charles Barkley For Being 29th On NBA All-Time Scoring List

It’s only the second episode of „Inside the NBA” on TNT, but Shaquille O’Neal is already trolling Charles Barkley. Shaq Barkley mocked his place on the all-time scoring list after the panel discussed Kevin Durant’s passing of Kareem Olajuwon on Thursday night.

On the „Inside the NBA” postgame show, a panel of Shaq, Chuck, Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith quickly spotted Durant’s new record. He is now 12th on the all-time scoring list after scoring 39 points in the Phoenix Suns’ 100-95 loss to the Lakers.

Shaq, who is No. 8 on the list, asked Barkley where he thought he was on the all-time scoring list. „The Roundmount of Rebound” believes he’s down a few spots, but in reality he’s 29th.

Here’s what Schock had to say:

„Where are you on that list? No, you’re not a couple down. You’re all the way down. All the way down. I know it.”

Shaquille O’Neal is eighth on the all-time scoring list with 28,596 points. If Kevin Durant averages 21.0 points per game and doesn’t miss a game, he could be surpassed this season.

On the other hand, Charles Barkley is 29th with 23,757 points. Active players like Chris Paul, Steph Curry and DeMar DeRozan have a chance to put him even lower before their careers end.

O’Neal played 19 seasons in the NBA and had a longer prime than Barkley. He was dominant during his time with the Orlando Magic and LA Lakers, but injuries and missed free throws late in his career prevented him from advancing further on the all-time scoring list.

Meanwhile, Barkley’s career lasted just 16 seasons, and he wasn’t even a starter in his first year in the NBA. His last four years with the Houston Rockets were plagued by injury, so he didn’t have the luxury of a long prime. However, it can be argued that Barkley is a more natural scorer than Shaq.

Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and the rest of the 'Inside the NBA’ crew won’t be breaking up anytime soon

A crew of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’neal went nowhere after TNT signed long-term deals last year. While the terms of Johnson, Smith and O’Neal’s contracts were unspecified, Barkley signed a 10-year extension.

The four have been together since 2011 and are arguably the best sports TV show on the planet. With Barkley no longer thinking about retirement, fans should look forward to seeing them together in the years to come.
