- Striker Romelu Lukaku is set to reunite with Roma boss Jose Mourinho
- Roma cannot afford the option to buy or his £325,000-a-week wages
- Nottingham Forest are in a position to agree a fee for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi
Roma sporting director Thiago Pinto and vice president Ryan Friedkin traveled to London on Friday to negotiate a deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea are pushing for a sale for the Belgian but are willing to accept another loan with a substantial fee as Roma cannot afford the option to buy or the 30-year-old’s £325,000-a-week wages.
Chelsea have limited options as Lukaku has refused to join Juventus, Inter Milan or clubs in Saudi Arabia.
If Lukaku joins Roma, he will be reunited with Jose Mourinho, who previously played at Manchester United.
They were also together at Chelsea for a while.
Pinto and Friedkin were at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s game against Luton when Behdad Ekbali spoke.
Lukaku is not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Chelsea and has not been given a squad number for this season.
The 30-year-old has been the subject of interest from Inter Milan and Juventus, but a deal has so far failed to materialise.
Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, scoring 14 goals in 37 games, having previously been a permanent fixture at the club.
Chelsea have confirmed that midfielder Andre Santos has joined Nottingham Forest on loan.
Forest agree a fee with Chelsea for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and have had a £14m offer accepted by Corinthians for Brazilian centre-back Murillo, 21.
