Get help with access

Enterprise access

Access to Oxford Academic content is often provided through institutional subscriptions and purchases. If you are a member of an organization with an active account, you can access content in one of the following ways:

IP based access

Generally, access is granted to various IP addresses in a corporate network. This authentication happens automatically and it is not possible to log out of an IP authenticated account.

Sign in with your company

Choose this option to have remote access while outside of your organization. Shibboleth / Open Athens technology is used to provide single sign-on between your institution’s website and Oxford Academic.

  1. Click Sign in with your organization.
  2. Select your company from the list provided and it will take you to login to your company website.
  3. When on the company site, use the credentials provided by your company. Do not use an Oxford Academic personal account.
  4. Following a successful login, you will be returned to Oxford Academic.

If your institution is not listed or you are unable to log in to your institution’s website, contact your librarian or administrator.

Log in with your library card

Enter your library card number to login. If you are unable to log in, please contact your librarian.

Association members

Community member access to a journal is achieved in one of the following ways:

Log in with a social platform

Many societies offer single sign-on between the society website and Oxford Academic. If you see 'Login by community’ in the login panel in the journal:

  2. When on the Society site, use the credentials provided by the Society. Do not use an Oxford Academic personal account.
  3. Following a successful login, you will be returned to Oxford Academic.

If you do not have a community account or have forgotten your username or password, please contact your community.

Logged in but unable to access content

Oxford Academic is home to a wide variety of products. An enterprise subscription does not cover the content you are trying to access. If you believe you should have access to that material, please contact your librarian.

Enterprise Account Management

For librarians and administrators, your personal account also provides access to institutional account management. Here’s how to view and activate subscriptions, manage organization settings and access preferences, access usage statistics, and more.
