Red Bull confirms legendary F1 designer Adrian Neuve is leaving the team

The Red Bull statement also confirmed that Newey is stepping back from Formula 1 design duties „to focus on the final development and delivery of Red Bull's first hypercar, the highly anticipated RB17.” He will see the project through to completion and will continue to attend select races in support of F1 team Trackside until the end of the 2024 season.

„Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to design fast cars,” Newey said. „My dream was to be an engineer in Formula 1 and I was lucky enough to realize that dream.

“For nearly two decades, I have been honored to play a key role in the development of Red Bull Racing from a fledgling to a multi-title winning team.

„However, I feel now is the right time to hand over the baton to others and look for new challenges for myself. In the interim, we have the final stages of development on the RB17, so my focus will be there for the remainder of my time with the team.”

„I would like to thank the many wonderful people I have worked with at Red Bull over the last 18 years for their talent, dedication and hard work. I am well prepared for the work that will lead to the final evolution of the car over the four-year period of this regulation package.

“On a personal note, I would also like to thank the partners the late Dietrich Matschitz, Mark Matschitz and Salerm Uvidya for their unwavering support during my time at Red Bull, as well as Christian, who was my business partner and a friend of our family.
