Hi Strands fans. Even once you decode the theme, it’s terrible.
As you can see, I ended up using two clues right away, and even then it took me a while to talk about what Wing and Tong have in common.
When I discovered that it wasn’t about dating (wingman?), I finally appreciated that the expressed words were generic, and you needed two of them to work.
And with that, I discovered Spangram: Jodi.
It still wasn’t a normal trip, but I looked at BOOKEND next (had already tried 'book’ to get one of those clues). There is only an EARPLUG to complete the bottom half of the board.
There are three more words hidden in the top half, luckily I found the longest one (the chopstick) first. This made it easy to find the mitten – as well, I doubt I would have gotten the waist any other way.
Not a fun puzzle today, in my view – a bit too vague to be interesting. Hopefully tomorrow will fix it.
