Toss England Vs chose to bowl Oman

Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first against Oman as England remain very much in the balance with hopes of progressing from Group B in the first of two must-win matches in Antigua.

After a washout against Scotland and a heavy loss to Australia, there is no room for further backlash if England hope to defend the T20 World Cup title they won in Australia two years ago, a key reason for Buttler to drop the first usage. Looks like a real batting surface at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

„It looks a good wicket, but we want to know how many runs we’re chasing,” Buttler said of the toss, England’s second target a big enough hit to eat away at Scotland’s advantage in the net to close to four points. -rate, ahead of the Scots’ final against Australia on Sunday.

England made one change from their 36-run loss to Australia in Barbados, with Reece Tapley’s left-arm seamer coming into the starting line-up for the first time in the tournament at the expense of Chris Jordan. Mark Wood, expensive in Barbados, kept his place in the fast seam attack alongside Jofra Archer, a double chance that Oman’s batsmen did not relish.

Oman’s own promotion hopes are over after three defeats from three, including a seven-wicket loss against Scotland at the same venue on Sunday. Kashyap Prajapati returns in place of Naseem Khushi and Fayaz Bhatt and Shoaib Khan replace Rafiullah and Shakeel Ahmed.
