Man gets second passport, UK High Commission caught | Ahmedabad News

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat University Police has registered a fake case against a person Sanjay Devendra PrajapatiA resident of Vadodara allegedly obtained a second passport for him using another name.

Prajapati’s fingerprints were found to match those of another passport holder by the UK Immigration Services and the British Deputy High Commission sent a report in this regard to the Regional Passport Office, Ahmedabad, based on which a complaint was filed.

In 2015, the complainant Shah He applied for a passport showing two residential addresses – Aditnath Apartments, Chitrakoot Society, Baldi and another at Vadaj. He had produced nationalized bank passbook, pan card and class 10 mark sheet from Board of Secondary Education, Mohali.
After police verification by Naranpura and Ellisbridge Police said he was issued a passport on August 4, 2015, which is valid till August 3, 2025.
In September 2015, he applied for a visitor visa to the UK. The embassy found that his fingerprints matched those of Prajapati and the visa was denied. Prajapati’s address is 163, Jawav Park-II, New Chama Road, Vadodara, the statement said. Deputy High Commission report forwarded to Vadodara Police Commissioner for investigation.
The Police Commissioner’s report stated that Prajapathi had obtained a passport issued in 2009 with a Vadodara address. He moved to England in 2009. Prajapati forged documents to support his new name and obtained another passport, the report said.
The RPO on Thursday directed Gupta to lodge a complaint with the Gujarat University Police under the Passport Act and the Indian Penal Code, which was done on Friday.
