Hadith Capsule: Gigi Hadid’s cashmere brand plans to release a limited-edition capsule collection with guest-in-residence LuisaviaRoma, WWD has learned.
Featuring extra-fine rib knit cardigans with puffed bell sleeves, one-shoulder jersey tops and lightweight skirts, among other items, the range of exclusive styles and colors is expected to drop at the retailer’s flagship store in Florence and online platform on September 22. , alongside the label’s flagship Fall 2023 collection.
Prior to the debut, Hadid and Luisaviaroma will celebrate their collaboration with an intimate dinner at Milan’s lofty Il Baretto al Baglioni venue.
Wisely, Hadid defined Milan Fashion Week as „the perfect occasion to celebrate this collaboration surrounded by people who inspire me.”
Meanwhile, the LuisaViaRoma Florentine store tie-up will be dedicated to two installations – one to be staged this month and one in November – as well as several activities off- and online.
Hadid, the brand’s founder and creative director, officially launched the fashion label in September last year, after teasing behind-the-scenes images of the design process on social media that sparked an instant internet buzz at the time.
Earlier this year, Guest in Residence released an exclusive co-branded capsule with The Snow Lodge, sister property of The Surf Lodge located at the St. Regis in Aspen. It featured three 100 percent cashmere styles, including an oversized hoodie and a real panel, and boasted a co-branded logo.
As announced, the launch follows two interactive „Feel Shop” pop-up stores that opened for the holiday season in New York City and Aspen. Both venues feature a schedule of interactive activities including pottery classes; shop and chip events; hand embroidery services on products; Gift wrapping and special floral arrangements, in addition to a meet and greet with Hadid.
To round out the activities, special guest holiday windows were also unveiled at the Antonia in Milan at the time.
Although this is Hadid’s first clothing brand, she has been in the world of fashion her entire life, starting her modeling career as a child, appearing in a campaign at the age of two. She eventually signed with IMG in 2011 and made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2014. Since then, she has become one of today’s biggest models, working with all the major design houses and fronting advertising campaigns for brands like Miu Miu. Versace, Jacquemus, Hugo Boss and Self-Portrait, to name a few.
Hadid has made strides in design by collaborating with brands including Frankies Bikinis, Reebok, Stuart Weitzman and Tommy Hilfiger. Notably, her collaboration with Hilfiger marked the first time a celebrity co-signed a collection and shared the label with the American designer.
