The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has chosen Minho from SHINee and famous K-drama star Lee Dong Wook to serve as the first global ambassadors of 'Olympic TM Friends’. Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea will host the 4th Winter Youth Olympic Games. Gangwon 2024 seeks to provide youth with a platform to celebrate peace and unity through sports, creating a common goal for a brighter future.
Lee Dong Wook and SHINee’s Minho Represent 2024 Olympics as Global Ambassadors
The International Olympic Committee has released an update on December 1st, Korean time. The 'Friends of the OlympicsTM’ program engages celebrities in the public sector to promote Olympic values. Popular actor Lee Dong Wook, who starred in K-dramas such as Tale of the Nine-Tail, Hotel King, and My Girl, was earlier appointed as the honorary brand ambassador of the '2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics.

In the past, SHINee’s Minho was recognized as one of the best-selling K-pop artists, gaining huge popularity during the Dream Team era. Minho is renowned for endorsing a range of international, regional and national sports organizations and events.

According to the official website the first Asian Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) aims to carry forward the Olympic tradition by providing more opportunities for young people to participate in various events leading up to, during and following the Games. The '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics’ will be held from January 19 to February 1, 2024.
