Bake Off hosts learned sign language as the show welcomed its first deaf contestant.

Tasha, 27, is a participation officer from Bristol and will be joining the show with Daryl, her BSL interpreter.

She said: 'When I got the Zoom call to say I was one of the 12, I cried. Daryl cried too. We were confused.’

Amos

Amos describes her packs as a labor of love – her style is colorful and chic, with attention to detail and she loves exploring different flavor profiles.

She likens her baking style to the converted church she now lives in, calling both her style and home 'traditional with a modern twist’.

’Go big, or go home’ is student Rowan’s motto, and one he always applied to his packs.

An English literature student, when she’s not writing up a storm, Rowan is also an avid host, applying her creative eye to her cooking.

Age: 27

Occupation: Vegetable grower and delivery driver

From: Cumbria

A lover of the great outdoors, she forages for seasonal produce and makes good use of her homegrown vegetables.

Abby’s bags aim to combine comfort and familiarity with a strong nod to nature, and a sense of creating something magical – shot through with a touch of fairytale.

For Christy, life with four kids always means birthdays to bake and an exciting party to plan.

A perfectionist, Don loves a baking challenge and often finds the most difficult bake in one of his 300 cookbooks.

When she’s not baking, she enjoys playing soccer with her two young sons or foraging for edible treats in the countryside.

Occupation: Database Administrator

From: Essex

She likes a half-naked cake with sleek lines, beautiful piping and minimal decoration; And while he likes to keep his flavors safe, Dana often incorporates a twist or two, adding familiar spices associated with his Indian heritage.

Occupation: Postdoctoral Research Associate

From: Leicestershire

Josh, a postdoctoral research associate, is a chemist by trade and brings his scientist’s precision and passion for experimentation into the kitchen, taking careful notes on every part of the cooking process.

Keith has a penchant for apple pies and fairy cakes – which he learned to bake with his mum.

These treats form the baking background of Keith’s childhood, his mother’s love of traditional dishes from her home in Malta.

He describes his style as rustic but elegant, and his taste preferences are more traditional – he’s particularly fond of chocolate, citrus and nuts.

With his days in the tent over, his next challenge was to create his own wedding cake.
