Hajj visa holders only for Jeddah, Madinah and Makkah: Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has specified that in 2024, only Hajj visas will allow pilgrims to participate in the holy rituals of Hajj, with travel strictly limited to the cities of Jeddah, Madinah and Makkah.

„It is not valid for work, residence or travel outside these areas, violations may lead to ban on future Hajj participation and deportation,” the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said.

The ministry clarified that all international visitors except GCC countries, which require a Hajj permit, must obtain a Hajj visa, reports Gulf News.

„The visa is valid only for the duration of the Hajj season and visa holders are not allowed to perform Umrah or engage in any paid or unpaid work during this time.”

To facilitate the process, the official website of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah now offers electronic registration for Hajj visa through the visa platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Applicants must register by the 7th of Dhul Hijjah or until the quota of pilgrims is reached.

The application process involves logging into the visa site, selecting the appropriate services and following the instructions to upload the required documents.

Applications are usually processed within three working days and it is advised to apply early to ensure compliance with all regulations.
