Pep Guardiola has provided an update on Erling Haaland after the striker was withdrawn at half-time against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Manchester City forward picked up an ankle injury in the 6-1 rout and Guardiola is unsure whether he will be available for tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League group match against the Swiss side against the Young Boys.
„We will train this afternoon so I don’t know,” Guardiola said on Monday Pre-match press conference.
„I spoke to the doctor and him. Yesterday he said he felt better but I don’t know.
„I will ask the doctor tomorrow. If he says there is no pain I will think about letting him play. There are a lot of days to recover. [before we play Chelsea on Sunday].
„Now, if Erling doesn’t play, Julian [Alvarez] I’m going to play there.”
While Holland has not been as prolific in front of goal as he was last season, he has still scored 11 Premier League goals and is the competition’s top scorer.
Reigning European champions Man City go into tomorrow’s match against the Young Boys with a perfect record in the Champions League, having won all three matches so far.
If they beat Young Boys 3-1 a fortnight ago, they will qualify for the last 16 of the competition.

Hollande’s owners will hope he is fit to play on Tuesday and in Fantasy’s Gameweek 12 against Chelsea.
