Stunning images have captured a rare blue supermoon in the UK and elsewhere around the world.

The moon, which peaked at 2.35am on Thursday in the UK, appeared larger than usual as it lit up the night sky on Wednesday night.

When the Moon is normally 252,088 miles away from Earth, Super Moon It was close to 222,043 miles, making it appear larger in the sky.
