PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Pilots Beach Volleyball defeated the Bushnell Beacons for the third time this season, 3-2, in their first home match at the Tom and Meg Names Family Foundation Beach Volleyball Courts. The win eclipsed last season's win total.
The Portland 3s, 4s and 5s all won the match to take the match for Portland. The Portland 4s took first place, with Kili Robbins and Elena Bullemer earning their fifth win as doubles in a three-set battle. The match between Portland and Bushnell's 2s ended next, with Annika Stamberger and Taylor Hale battling to the end against Bushnell, but coming up short in three sets. The Portland 1s of Elin Larsson and Leonie Freitag also failed to win, dropping their match but coming within three and two points in the first and second sets, respectively.
Portland brought home the win on 3rds and 5s, and they delivered. Sophie Lee and Valerie Brooke won their match 21-18 in both sets, then Jordan Burtouche and Maui Robbins gave the Pilots a win at 5 Portland, giving Portland their first match win on the new courts.
