Granit Xhaka’s Big Day
’If this is the end, farewell Granit,’ read the banner at Ashburton Army, as Arsenal’s end-of-season celebrations against Wolves reached a climax. The effective party was in full swing early in the first half.
Granit Xhaka, in what is expected to be his last game for the club, scored twice as the Emirates Stadium faithful showed all too clearly how much things have changed for the Swiss midfielder.
He is set to join Bayer Leverkusen this summer after seven mixed years in north London, but that explains why Arsenal were only too happy to snap him up when they did. The impact he has had on the team this season cannot be overstated.

Arteta could complete a two-year transfer deal
Arsenal have given the green light to sign Real Madrid star Marco Asensio this summer.
The Spanish winger was offered a new deal to stay at Los Blancos, but he rejected the offer and will become a free agent ahead of the 2023/24 season unless new terms are offered.
When asked about Asensio, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti did not explicitly confirm his departure but hinted that he will leave the club this summer.
