A 'Young Sheldon' spinoff about Georgie and Mandy has been ordered at CBS

A „Young Sheldon” spinoff series about Georgie and Mandy has been officially ordered at CBS for the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will reprise their roles in the untitled series, which will follow Georgie and Mandy as they raise their family in Texas. Unlike „Young Sheldon,” the series will be a multi-camera comedy as opposed to a single-game one. It was first reported back in the works in January.

The new series was created by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland. The trio served as the production team behind both „Young Sheldon” and the mothership show „The Big Bang Theory.”

„It has been a privilege to spend the past seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family, and now this amazing journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. „Chuck and Steves have done a masterful job creating these characters and entertaining generations of fans with heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”

News of a spinoff series comes as „Young Sheldon” airs its seventh and final season. The final season began on February 15, after its premiere was delayed due to a production stoppage due to a dual writers and actors strike in 2023.

„From 'The Big Bang Theory' to 'Young Sheldon,' the world of the Cooper family is incredibly special to us,” said Lorre, Molaro and Holland. „We're really excited to continue their stories through the eyes of Georgie and Mandy.”
