More than 57% of popular AI tools come from the US. But European countries are catching up fast.
More than half of the most popular artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including ChatGPT, Pictory and Genesys, are developed in the US.Other countries are catching up, according to a recent report analyzing 45 key technologies related to artificial intelligence.
Canada is the second most represented country, with only 6.6% of AI tools analyzed in the report.
In Europe, on the other hand, France, Germany and the United Kingdom occupy the top positionsAll were developed with the same number of tools (4.4%), according to a report produced by software company Dipaldi.
Among the most prominent AI tools developed in Europe are CleanUp.pictures and ItsAlive originating from France, UserLike developed in Germany and EBI.AI and Flick developed in the United Kingdom.
Other emerging players in the AI game from Europe include Denmark, Zendesk, and Poland, home of LiveChat. Both have offices in the US.

According to a 2021 European Investment Bank report, The European Union accounts for only 7% of investments in artificial intelligence and blockchainAmerica and China account for 80%. The European Commission says it plans to invest €1 billion a year in AI.
At VivaTech this year, French President Emmanuel Macron will present a plan to support investment in AI.
He will join Mistral AI, a French technology and AI company that has raised €105 million in funding four weeks after its creation.
The company, founded by three former AI researchers at Meta and Google, is an example of Europe’s ongoing efforts to market itself as a tech hub.

The report ranked each AI tool based on an overall score that took into account the number of Google searches, review scores, social media following and price.
The top 10 AI tools are mostly from the US, such as the popular ChatGPT, Copy.ai and Quillbot.ai topping the list.
The first non-US AI tool on the list was the French CleanUp.pictures, which came in at number ten.
Although Canada ranks second, behind the United States, none of its existing AI tools score high enough to make the top 19.
Despite the investment gap, Brussels has recently focused on establishing regulations to control the use of AI. It has the potential to become a global standard.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen gave a speech to parliament written in part by ChatGPT to highlight both the potential and risks of AI and call for a faster and more focused effort to control the use of this emerging technology.
