The second season of Apple TV+ and Legendary Entertainment’s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” will be filmed in Queensland, Australia. After the first season of the action-adventure series was mostly filmed in British Columbia, Canada, this marks a relocation.
Location attraction agency, Screen Queensland, said the show could access state grants awarded through the Queensland Government’s Production Attraction Strategy. It will be the biggest series shot in the state and will gross A$115 million ($76 million), the company said.
The series also includes other Queensland-made Legendary Entertainment films „Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire,” „Godzilla vs. Kong”; And Kong: Skull Island.”

The second season of „Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” is produced by Chris Black along with Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tori Tunnell. Matt Shakman, Andy Colville and Jen Roskind also serve as executive producers. Matsuoka Hiro and Arita Takemasa executive produce on behalf of Japan’s Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character. Toho licensed the Legendary rights to “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” following the two companies’ long-standing film rights relationship.
„It’s been a blockbuster year for filmmaking in Queensland and the Miles Government is proud to welcome this remarkable series to the Sunshine State,” said Queensland Arts Minister Leanne Enoch. „Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ season two will provide jobs for around 1,000 local cast and crew. That’s a big boost for small businesses that help provide manufacturing, from shelter, medical services and food delivery to security, transportation and wardrobe products.
