In this context, Telefónica and Meta worked closely to deliver accessible mixed reality content through MetaQuest 3 devices that are easy to use and adapted to the needs of the elderly. To this end, accessibility features such as voice assistance and communication have been incorporated to improve the experience for people with low vision or motor problems.
Mixed reality content is carefully selected for these face-to-face workshops, keeping in mind accessibility for seniors. They include digital skills ranging from visits to virtual artworks, leisure activities and digital social interactions to cognitive development experiences, all available. Movistar is an immersive experience The Application is a place in Metaverse where you can share, discover, access new audiovisual content, play games or learn about Telefónica products and services.

RECONECTADOS is a comprehensive and free program to promote digital literacy among the elderly, which includes online training, training resources for their immediate environment and face-to-face training workshops held every Thursday at the Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid.
Jose Luis Zimmerman, Meta’s director of public affairs, comments: “Our goal at Meta is to enable everyone to benefit from deep technologies. It is important to us. That’s why we are happy to support this project with Telefónica, which focuses on people who are not familiar with these new technologies, so that they can be part of this future that already exists and live experiences that otherwise would. Impossible”.
