Robbie Williams has sent words of encouragement to an artist who revealed he was „really broke” when he performed a series of concerts at Knepworth in 2003.
On Monday, Sarah Graham, a painter from Hitch, Hertfordshire, was „on the verge of tears” when she saw the pop star she has admired since she was a teenager.
The singer made a supportive comment in a video uploaded by Ms Graham in May, which shows her battle with clinical depression and bipolar disorder.
He wrote: „I played Knepworth, and nobody knew how truly broken I was. You couldn’t tell. I presented myself as the opposite of how I felt. That’s what I see represented in your art.”

Ms Graham has been open about her bipolar disorder since 2005 and how she was diagnosed with mental illness in 2017.

„It’s amazing that he makes artists successful. It’s so hard to raise your profile and get it out there. I’ve been away for 23 years.
“To have the recognition of a celebrity of this stature – the impact it has on me is immeasurable.
„He’s putting it out there for the world to see. To say that he broke down at Knepworth – to have him respond to my video like that is really powerful and is going to help a lot of people.”

Ms Graham said in 2012, when she was ill, she painted the five members on a then-reunited tag team, but it went unsold at auction.
Now he hopes the singer will sign the film, which he admits is „not my best work”, to raise money for a mental health charity.
She said: „Everyone is so positive, it’s so lovely.”
