Pop superstar Justin Timberlake and golf legend Tiger Woods are expanding their entertainment empire across the Atlantic, setting their sights on the historic Scottish town of St Andrews.
The duo’s latest venture will see the beloved New Picture House take cinema up a notch. T-Square Social Place.
Following the success of their New York City flagship, Timberlake and Woods’ latest high-end sports bar project will feature state-of-the-art sports simulators, duckpin bowling and darts while preserving two of the original cinema screens – a nod to the venue’s rich history. .
Fife Council has given the project the green light, hailing its potential to revitalize the area. The renovation is expected to create 40 to 45 new jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy. According to the documents, the plans will allow local residents to „enjoy a wider range of cinema, dining and entertainment” and „will be critical to preserving the cinema offering going forward.”
As per the terms of the project approval, the works should be started within the next three years.
For Timberlake, the location of St. Andrews holds special significance. The „Mirrors” singer is no stranger to the famous links, having competed in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2019.
“We are committed to honoring the heritage of the theater while creating modern entertainment spaces,” said Christopher Anand, CEO of Nexus Luxury Collection, the real estate venture behind T-Squared Social.
The announcement comes at a challenging time for Timberlake, who recently faced legal trouble with a DWI arrest in Zag Harbor, New York on June 18.
The singer addressed the incident three days later on June 21 during a concert in Chicago, saying, „It’s been a tough week. I know sometimes it’s hard to love, but you love me back. We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights… But you’re here, I’m here, and nothing can change this moment.”
During a show in Boston on June 29, the singer addressed the arrest with humor. „So, is anyone driving here tonight?” Timberlake asked the cheering crowd in a clip captured by fans TikTok. „No, I’m just kidding,” he said quickly.
JT’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., has said he will „vigorously” defend the star against the charges. „He has a lot to say at the appropriate time,” Burke said in a statement.
