Kenyan athletes dominate international 10K races

Kenyan athletes David Pett and Betty CK won the men's and women's races at the 2024 Sands China Macao International 10K race on Sunday, setting new records of 29:02 and 33:53 respectively.

Bette defeated her compatriots Mathew Samberu, Donikati Oliva Komon took first place in the men's event, while Kenya's Lucy Ndambuki and Zibora Wanjiru Kingori finished second and third respectively. .

Wang Kun and Hoi Long won the Macau men's and women's athletics division in 33:59 and 38:22 respectively, breaking the Macau record for the event.

The race started at Tsai Wan Lake Square and crossed the Tsai Wan Bridge along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Khun Iam Ecumenical Center and ended at the Olympic Sports Center stadium.

The 5km fun run started at 7am and the 10K race started 30 minutes later. Organized by the Sports Bureau, Sands China Limited and the Athletics General Association of Macau (AGAM), the 2024 Sands China Macau International 10K attracted around 10,000 participants from 45 countries and regions.
