Samsung Electronics has announced three new monitors dedicated to the gaming industry, the upgraded Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD), which features a 49-inch ultra-widescreen curved panel and includes anti-glare technology and a multi-device experience. The company will unveil its new monitor family dedicated to video games at the CES 2024 consumer exhibition in Las Vegas (USA) from January 9 to 12. These new features include the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD), a 49-inch curved ultra-widescreen gaming monitor that offers DQHD resolution (5,120 X 1,440) and a 32:9 aspect ratio. On the other hand, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) model is Samsung's first 32-inch flat OLED gaming monitor with 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) and 16:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors have a similar refresh rate value of 240Hz and a 'gray to grey' (GtG) response time of 0.03 ms. Finally, the smallest model is the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD), a 27-inch QHD (2,560 x 1,440) flat-screen monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms GTX response. The South Korean company has announced that all three monitors will include OLED Glare-Free technology to reduce light reflections. With this, you can play with consistent brightness and color in any lighting environment. On the other hand, they introduce VESA Display HDR True Black 400, which means the monitors can deliver vivid colors and detailed graphics regardless of the game or content being displayed. Likewise, the company has clarified that these models are compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to enjoy fluid HDR games and low latency; and includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. Ecosystem and connectivity between devices Two advanced models, Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8, also support a feature called Multi Control that provides connectivity between devices for an enhanced multi-device experience. This feature allows users to transfer images and text between their monitor and other branded devices using a keyboard and mouse to improve workflow. These monitors also include support for the Samsung SmartThings Hub platform, which can connect to a number of IoT devices compatible with Mater and the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) for management. They also have a Samsung Smart TV and Samsung Gaming Hub that provide access to streaming services without downloading.
