England off-spinner Adil Rashid has taken the No. 1 spot in the T20 bowler rankings, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam has replaced Indian opener Shubman Gill in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings.
Rashid overtook two other legspinners, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (No. 2) and India’s Ravi Bishnoi (No. 3) after taking seven wickets in the first four T20Is of the ongoing England series in the West Indies. He is only the second Englishman to be ranked No. 1 in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings for bowlers since offspinner Graeme Swann a decade ago. Rashid was elevated to the top spot a day after going unsold during the IPL 2024 auction.
India’s Suryakumar Yadav remains at the top of the T20I batsmen’s rankings after scoring a half-century and a century in the second and third T20Is in South Africa. His lead over second-placed Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan is now 100 rating points.
In ODIs, after Gill was rested for the ongoing India series in South Africa, Babar overtook Gill as the No. 1 batsman, although neither batsman has played an ODI since the conclusion of the 2023 World Cup.
In the Test rankings, Kane Williamson remains No.1, while Usman Khawaja moved up three places to fourth following Australia’s win against Pakistan in Perth.
Pat Cummins has moved up one place to third in the Test bowling rankings, while Nathan Lyon has climbed to fifth, Mitchell Starc to eighth and Josh Hazlewood to tenth. Indian spinner R.Ashwin remains at number 1 in Test bowler rankings.
