In-Space taught a short course on space technology for the agriculture sector

The Indian National Space Promotion and Accreditation Center (IN-SPAce) offers a short course focusing on the application of space technology in the agricultural sector. The course aims to bring out the potential of space technology in revolutionizing Indian agriculture through state-of-the-art knowledge and hands-on training.

Scheduled to take place from November 20 to 24, 2023, the course provides participants with credit-bearing training and coaching. It is offered by IN-SPAce in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), National Skill Development Corporation and NGOs.

The objective of the course is to promote the use of space technology in socially impactful applications in the agricultural sector. It seeks to equip academicians, industry executives, graduates, post-graduates and researchers with the knowledge and skills necessary to utilize space technology in agricultural advancements.

Interested persons can apply for this course till October 2, 2023. Course fee for participants is Rs.11,000.

IN-SPAce, established in 2020, is a major initiative in the Indian space industry. Its main objective is to promote, facilitate and regulate space activities of private companies in the country. As the regulatory body for these activities, IN-SPACe is responsible for issuing licenses and permits and ensuring compliance with national security and international obligations.

In addition to its regulatory functions, IN-SPAce seeks to promote innovation, foster collaboration between government and private institutions, and improve processes in the space industry. It aims to create an enabling environment for private companies, startups and academic institutions to participate in space initiatives and contribute to India’s space capabilities.

By conducting this short course on space technology for agriculture sector, IN-SPAce is taking active steps in utilizing space capabilities to boost economic growth and national development in India.
