Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India]November 30 (ANI): Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai has postponed the 'En Man En Makal’ Yatra till December 5 as India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu.
„The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu due to a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea. Annamalai is currently visiting Tiruthurapoondi assembly constituency of Tiruvarur district as part of 'En Man En People’ Yatra.

BJP president Annamalai is on a six-month padayatra ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Inaugurating the pilgrimage, Annamalai said that the pilgrimage will cover all 234 assembly constituencies across the state and will conclude on January 11 next year ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP state president said the yatra aims to cover a distance of 1068 km on foot and the rest by vehicle.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the six-month Padayatra in the state’s pilgrimage town of Rameswaram on July 28.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Yatra, Amit Shah said 'My land, my people’ to make Tamil Nadu a family-dynasty, corruption-free Tamil Nadu and to improve law and order in the state.
