Things didn’t go well for Threads, Meta’s new social platform as a replacement for Twitter, and accounts were linked to Instagram users’ profiles to no avail.
The new data shows that the launch of the web version of Threads did not signal any improvements on the platform, but instead users shifted from mobile devices to the web version.
The data speaks for itself
TechCrunch echoes data from companies such as digital intelligence firm Similarweb, which found a 20% increase in traffic to the Threads website in the past week, although the increase globally was 3%.
It also refers to the monitoring of Sensor Tower, which has recorded an 82% drop since its launch in early August, and currently only has around 8 million daily visits.
The web version does not contribute to users
It didn’t help that it was an app that quickly reached 100 million users, and the latest launch of the Threads website didn’t reverse the decline despite one of the users’ requests.
These and other data show that innovations did not manage to return inactive users, did not attract new users, and not because Meta did not try, in fact, today they announced who is testing the search function. In Australia and New Zealand, other highly requested activities.
