England men’s captain Harry Kane has sent a message of support to the Lions ahead of Sunday’s historic World Cup final against Spain.
The 30-year-old, who scored following a big summer move for German giants Bayern Munich, has praised the performances of an England side who have met every challenge put in front of them so far.
In what will be their toughest test against a star-studded Spanish side, he urged them to get the job done and claim their maiden crown in the tournament.
Hello Lionesses just in time to congratulate you for the World Cup finals on Sunday.’ He said in A Video posted on Instagram. 'I’ll take care. It’s been an amazing journey so far and you should be really proud of yourself.
’We’re all behind you, we’re all rooting for you, we know you can do it. So go win that World Cup and bring the trophy home. Congratulations!’
England cruised to a thrilling 3-1 win over hosts Australia, knocking out their first final chance at the semi-final stage in their last two matches.
After winning the European Championship crown last summer, Sarina Weigman’s side are bidding to become the country’s first senior football team to win the world title since 1966.
En route to that victory, thanks to late strikes from Ella Dunne and Georgia Stanway, the Lions secured a nail-biting knockout stage victory over their opponents on Sunday.
However, La Roja was much changed due to a violent uprising in the camp following a revolt by up to 15 players ahead of the match.
However, Jorge Vilda’s side are in dangerous form despite being the tournament’s top scorers and omissions with 17 goals in six games.
