JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Central Asia's leading international conference, the Astana International Forum (AIF), is set to take place in Astana on June 13-14, 2024, to strengthen cross-border diplomacy and cooperation.
According to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on February 12, 2024, this year's event will provide an important opportunity for the international community to unite in addressing the growing challenges to global security, stability and prosperity. .
AIF 2024 will bring together government and business leaders from around the world to exchange perspectives on the most pressing issues of the day and identify new avenues for collaboration.
The forum's program will again be divided into four pillars: foreign policy and international security, international development and sustainability, energy and climate change, and economics and finance.
These pillars will serve as key topics for two days of engaging panel sessions, chair discussions and dedicated networking opportunities, with the ultimate aim of delivering actionable results for the revival of multilateralism and new opportunities for bilateral partnership.
„In an era marked by polarization and fragmentation, persistent economic and geopolitical disruptions threaten to destroy the essential principles of cooperation and mutual respect,” Kassym-Jomart Togayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said at the opening of the second AIF.
„Through the Astana International Forum, I am very proud that Kazakhstan is helping to protect and develop the international system at this crucial moment,” he noted.
Under the theme “Empowering People, Uniting Nations: Building a Better World Together”, AIF 2024 is poised to re-energize the global community, offering fresh perspectives and collaborative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity today.

AIF 2024 is an important milestone for Kazakhstan on the world stage, as the country is set to chair several leading international organizations this year.
These international organizations include the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Conference on Communication and Confidence-Building Activities in Asia, the Organization of Turkic Nations, the Islamic Organization for Food Security, and the International Fund for the Conservation of the Aral Sea.
