Will Smith on 'I Am Legend’ sequel with Michael B Jordan: We’re so close, script just came out

We previously reported that actors Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan were set to star in a sequel to Smith’s 2007 film, and that the sequel would be produced. I am legend. Currently, the project is in the final stages of scripting, Smith said.

According to VarietyThe upcoming sequel is based on an alternate ending used in the DVD release of the 2007 post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, in which Smith’s character dies, rather than in its theatrical version.

„I have a call with Michael B. Jordan tomorrow. We’re very close and the script just came in,” Smith said at the third edition of the Red Sea Film Festival.

“You have to be real I am legend Need to know this, but in the first, theatrical version, my character dies, but the DVD had an alternate version of the ending where my character lived. We’re going with the legends of the DVD version. I can’t tell you anything, but Michael B. There’s Jordan,” he added.

Oscar-winning author Akiva Goldsman adapted Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel for the original 2007 film and is set to write the follow-up.

Goldsman will also serve as a producer on the project, along with Outlier Society’s Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo, Smith and Westbrook Studios co-president/head of motion pictures John Mohn.
