West Ham 'interested’ in signing Manchester United star on loan amid more transfer rumours

West Ham United are keen to sign Manchester United captain Harry Maguire on loan in this summer’s transfer window.

According to the report of Independent, which claims the Hammers have expressed a 'temporary interest’ in the centre-back. Maguire faces an uncertain future after falling down the pecking order of the past at Old Trafford this summer.

Following the arrival of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax last summer, Maguire was soon forced out of manager Erik den Haag’s strong starting line-up and finished the season as the club’s fourth-choice centre-back, ahead of Victor Lindelof in the pecking order. He featured in just half of United’s 62 matches, starting eight Premier League games.

United are open to offloading Maguire this summer, but their £50million valuation threatens to put off potential suitors. United are keen to recoup the £80million fee that saw him re-signed in 2019.
