Uzbekistan and South Korea discuss cooperation in legislative field
AKIPRESS.COM – Deputy Minister of Justice Khudoyor Meliyev and Deputy Minister of Government Law of the Republic of Korea Kim Chang-beom held a meeting in Sejong as part of the visit of representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea, UzA reported.
Representatives from the Government Ministry of Law provided information on Official Development Assistance (ODA) and Council of Asian Legal Institutions (CALI) programs.
In particular, the ODA project provides digitization, dissemination and standardization of legal information, creation of legal information portals and training in 17 countries in Asia and the Middle East.
The CALI program is scheduled to begin in 2025. The main activities of the company are collaborative research on legislative issues that may arise in the future, improvement of legislative process management, digitization of legal information and adaptation of legislative documents to modern conditions.
Uzbekistan was invited to join these programs as an essential strategic partner in Central Asia. The parties agreed to establish cooperation links for the implementation of ODA and CALI programmes.
The two sides signed a plan of action to implement the essential areas identified in the MoU signed by the two organizations in 2009.
Practical cooperation on legislative planning system, analysis of legislative acts, legal education and other issues has been agreed as part of this plan in 2024-2025.
