A new documentary about former Italian prime minister and media mogul Silvio Berlusconi, who died last year at the age of 86, will be released on Netflix on April 11.
title Young BerlusconiThe series will consist of three 50-minute episodes retracing the president's career, from his entrepreneurial success in the 1990s to his meteoric political career.
Directed by Simone Manetti, the series will feature never-before-seen archive footage and promises to offer a glimpse into lesser-known aspects of Berlusconi's colorful career.
In addition to interviews with people close to Berlusconi, the series features archival material with personal anecdotes about how the controversial figure's media empire and political discourse shaped Italian society.
The series will chart Berlusconi's humble beginnings to his immense success in the worlds of business, media, football and politics.
In the first scene of the trailer, a young Berlusconi is asked by TV host Mike Bungiorno: „You've been involved in so many things, television, cinema, distribution, publishing, construction, football – I don't know how you do it – have you ever thought of going into politics?”
Berlusconi replied: „I'm a man who gets things done, so leave what I do best, being a businessman.”
After its release in Italy, the documentary will be available for streaming in several countries, starting with France, Germany and Austria.
