Swimming’s Elisha Pribadi was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Piscataway, NJ – Private Elisha was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Pribadi won the 200 IM with a runner-up finish in the 200 breast last weekend at Rutgers’ pre-season tune-up.

The Jakarta, Indonesia native won the 200 IM in 2:04.80 ahead of Army senior duo Melinda Zhang and Aurelie Mikault. Zhang finished sixth in the 200 IM at last year’s Patriot League Championships, while Mikalt was the Patriot League champion in the 100 breast and runner-up in the 200 breast. Pribadi’s time is currently third in the Big Ten.

The Scarlet Knight freshman finished second in the 200 breast clocking 2:18.37, behind Patriot League Championship runner-up Mikalt. Her time also ranks third in the Big Ten.

Additionally, Bribody had top-eight finishes in the 100 fly and 100 breast. He posted a time of 56.89 to become RU’s top finisher in the 100 fly, placing fourth. She placed fifth in the 100 breast in 1:04.98. He swam with the 200 and 400 free and 400 medley „C” relay teams and appeared with the 200 medley relay „D” team.

Rutgers is the fifth Scarlet Knight forward to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors since joining the league in 2014-15.
